Biography

I am excited to be at Prattville Intermediate School.  The staff, students, and parents are great!  I hope to bring excitement of learning with me to PIS.  I love teaching and I love my students.  I live and teach by the philosophy that every student can learn and it's my personal mission to figure out how each one learns best.  I try to make learning fun while offering a safe secure environment for learning to take place.  My students know that I love them, but I expect them to do their best.  I push my students to do their best and I except nothing less.  All of my students are smart and have talent.  I enjoy watching them discover their talent and build confidence over the year.  Children are our most precious gift and need to be encouraged.  I get to do that every day with all of my students.

Teaching is my second career of my life.  I was a photographer for over 20 years.  I went back to school with the encouragement of my family and became a teacher in 2008.  I am a graduate of Auburn Montgomery.  I am certified in both Elementary Education and in Collaborative Education.

When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family.  I have 5 grandchildren and I can't think of a better way to spend my time than with them.  I do love crafting, sewing, baking, and reading.  So when I am not teaching, I am your average every day Nana.

Spelling words are given to the students on Monday.
Parents please study spelling words nightly with your child.
Students will typically have two test a week in my class.  They will have a spelling and language skills test usually on Friday.
